Es un quelante: se une a iones de metales como hierro, cobre, calcio y magnesio y los deja inactivos. No es un conservante por sí solo, pero hace que el conservante rinda más.It is a chelator: it binds metal ions such as iron, copper, calcium and magnesium and makes them inactive. Those metals speed up rancidity, shift colours and scents, and help some microbes survive. It is not a preservative on its own, but it makes the preservative work better.

- No reemplaza al conservante: úsalo siempre junto con uno.It does not replace the preservative: always use it alongside one.
- Más no es mejor: con 0,1 % suele bastar.More is not better: 0.1% is usually enough.
- Es para fórmulas con agua: no se disuelve en aceites ni en bálsamos sin agua.It is for water-based formulas: it does not dissolve in oils or anhydrous balms.
