Es un alcohol graso (no es alcohol como el etílico: no reseca ni se evapora). Viene en hojuelas que se derriten con los aceites. En una emulsión se acomoda junto al emulsionante y forma una red que da cuerpo y estabilidad. También da tacto suave y en champús aporta cuerpo.It is a fatty alcohol (not like ethanol: it does not dry the skin or evaporate). It comes as flakes that melt with the oils. In an emulsion it sits next to the emulsifier and builds a network that adds body and stability. It also gives a soft feel and adds body to shampoos.

Cada 1 % de más espesa bastante la crema: sube poco a poco. No lo cuentes como emulsionante; súmalo al que ya lleva la fórmula.Every extra 1% thickens the cream noticeably: increase gradually. Do not count it as the emulsifier; add it on top of the one already in the formula.
Cómo se usaHow to use it
- Pésalo con la fase oleosa, junto con los aceites, mantecas y el emulsionante.Weigh it into the oil phase, together with the oils, butters and emulsifier.
- Calienta a baño María hasta 70–75 °C (o la temperatura que pida tu emulsionante) hasta que se derrita por completo.Heat in a water bath to 70–75 °C (or the temperature your emulsifier needs) until fully melted.
- Sigue el proceso normal de la emulsión. La crema toma su cuerpo final en unas 24 horas.Follow the usual emulsion process. The cream reaches its final body in about 24 hours.
- En bálsamos sin agua, derrítelo con las ceras y mantecas para dar firmeza.In anhydrous balms, melt it with the waxes and butters for firmness.

- No emulsiona solo: siempre necesita un emulsionante como CreamMaker, BTMS-50 o Ceteareth-20.It does not emulsify on its own: it always needs an emulsifier such as CreamMaker, BTMS-50 or Ceteareth-20.
- En exceso deja la crema muy dura o con efecto blanco al frotar.Too much makes the cream very stiff or leaves a white film when rubbed in.
- Si no se derrite bien, quedan grumitos en la crema.If it does not melt fully, small lumps remain in the cream.
